New Zipping Process on Download

We’ve just released a small performance update, which changes the way zipping works when you Download. Now when selecting the All Files Zip option – we will zip up the files in the background and send you an email with a special link to download the zip file. This greatly enhances performance and means you no longer have to wait while BrandFM zips the files.

Where can I find help?

Help is everywhere. A simple thing. But everywhere you are in BrandFM help is just a single click away. Click the help button at the top of every page and you'll get context sensitive help which drops down right in front of your eyes. We even show help automatically on every page for first time users until you're ready to turn it off. How much does it cost to download files?

Nothing, Nix, Nada. Downloading from BrandFM is always Free.

How much does it cost to upload files?

In order to upload files you need an Upload Account (OR be invited by someone with an Upload Account to upload to their account). Upload Accounts are charged for on a monthly subscription basis. You can see pricing here.

What's the difference between a User Account and an Upload Account?

A User Account is Free and lets you see, request access to and download files that are not available to the public. You can also create watch lists, set up notifications and complete an optional user profile.

An Upload Account is charged for on a monthly subscription basis and provides you with online storage space which you can upload to and permanently store your brand files and media. You can then organize your brand assets, invite people to download files, send large files with eCourier, and automatically broadcast changes and updates to your brand. You can control access to folders and individual assets so that users have to have the right permissions before they can download files.

What happens to my file when I upload it?

We respect your source file. In other words your uploaded file is stored in the same original format that it was uploaded in. We do not change your file in any way. Once uploaded BrandFm will inspect your file and automatically generate four different sized rgb jpeg thumbnails (if it can) and extract meta-data from the file. When your file is downloaded later the original file is delivered and the user can also elect to download an RGB jpeg thumbnail.

What file formats are supported?

We support most file formats. We automatically generate thumbnails for JPG, TIF, PNG, GIF, EPS, AI, PSD, PDF. With other file formats you may find that thumbnails are not generated or are unaccaptable. Even if the thumbnail is not generated or looks weird the original source file is as uploaded. In this instance you can upload a new thumbnail by clicking the Edit link on the image thumbnail. You can then upload a thumbnail that you have generated off-line without affecting the uploaded source file.

You may not upload Executables (such as .exe, .bins, .sh files, etc)

Watchlists

What is a Watchlist?

A Watchlist is a list of resources (folders or assets) that you are interested in and are watching.

If you add a folder or asset to your Watchlist, then whenever something is added or updated, you will be notified by email (according to your notification settings). You can see your current watches items from your watchlist in your Dashboard or visit your Watchlist page from My Details.

How do I add items to my watchlist?

Whenever you download files from an Asset, the asset is automatically added to your Watchlist. You can also add assets (that you haven't downloaded or even better, folders that you're interested in, to your watch list.

To add an Asset or Folder to your watchlist without downloading, navigate to the Folder or Asset you're interested in and click the Add to watchlist button.

How do I remove something from my Watchlist

Navigate to your Watchlist, either via your Dashboard or your My Details page. Click the red [-] button to remove the item from your Watchlist.

How do I stop getting so many emails about changed items in my Watchlist

If you're getting too many emails about Watchlist items, you can either remove the item from your Watchlist (see above), or you can change your email notification settings. Go to My Details and in the Notifications panel click the Change Notification Setting button and edit your email settings.
