Searching

Just type what you're looking or in the Search box and click the Go button. The first 10 results of your search will display. You can sort the results with the Sort dropdown box at the top of the results and you can view the next 10 results by clicking the page navigation at the top or bottom of the results page.

Advanced Search - Assets, Brands, Companies, Asset by ID and Asset By Reference

You can define what you want to Search for (in advanced search) using the drop down list beside the search box. Usually you will be searching for assets, brands or companies, so this is what you should select in the drop down list. We allow "jump to" searches as well. If you know the ID of your asset then select "Asset by ID", enter the ID, and you will be taken directly to the page for that asset (providing you have permission for it). Asset by reference is the same thing, but instead of using our internal ID, you use the Reference provided by the uploader (e.g. a products barcode).

Permission is important

Log in for extra permissions - Some files have restricted access imposed by the brand manager. If these files are really secret they won't even show up in browse and search! So make sure you're logged in if you are looking for some private files that you own or have permissions to.

Other options

You don't HAVE to use search to find what you want, you should check out browse as well. Alternatively you can speed things up by searching first and then browsing from within the results by clicking the available links.

Special Searches

We've created special use searches that are targeted at specific high-volume users who need particular results and to improve workflow and time to complete tasks. The first such special search is 1-Click Product Updates. This is provides users of product images, primarily in FMCG industries to quickly find, add to cart and download product images for new or updated products.

Beginner Advice

AND, OR and NOT

NOTE: when using this kind of search you MUST use capitals for AND, OR and NOT.

car photography

This search will yeild results with EITHER "car" or "photography" in it. However, it will be ranked so that items which mention both car and photography will be at the top.

car AND photography

This will only return results with BOTH car and photography in them. This is a good way to reduce the search results so that you don't end up looking through 10 pages of irrelevant results.

car photography NOT ford

This will return all car photography results that don't mention the word "ford". It's useful if you keep being overwhelmed with results that aren't what you're looking for.

Parenthesis/Brackets

(red green blue) AND car

Parenthesis can be used to group search terms. The example above will search for items that have the word car, plus either red, green or blue mentioned.

Wild Cards

car*

Asterisk's represent "anything", so the example above could return car, carpet, carmen or cartoon. You can use an asterisks anywhere in a word (car*, *car, ca*r).

?ar

Question marks can represent "any one letter", so the search above could return car, bar or jar.

Fuzzy Search

best~

Fuzzy searching is kind of like intelligent wild card searching. You do this by putting a ~ after your search term. The search above could be used to find best, beast, test or rest. Useful if you're not entirely sure of the correct spelling!

Proximity Searches

"car photography"~10

The example search above will return results that have "car" and "photography" within 10 words of each other. Now that's cool!
